Art space studierendenWERK
'Kunstraum' is opening new spaces at various sites of the studierendenWERK BERLIN in which students can express themselves artistically, e.g. with exhibitions, installations and media works. The sites include, among others, the cafeterias at the TU and HU, the BAföG Office. But also, less well-known, but extremely exciting spaces will be used as art spaces, e.g. the historical cellars under the Studentenhaus at the Steinplatz.
Stage & Music
We host music and stage events throughout the semester. Students can watch, listen or perform on stage themselves. Our biggest projects include the pop choir Unität with over 200 singers. And our stage series "Mix it! Talent." This is open to all stage talents, who would like to perform solo or in an ensemble.
Literature is the most recent of our offers and still in its development phase. Our interdisciplinary projects such as Kunstraum, Paris X Berlin or food+culture create a dialogue between literature and other arts. For that purpose, we provide a stage for the spoken word by hosting “Spoken Word & Comedy” of our Mix it! Talent events.
'Get togethers' are our events and offers where people come together to do something together, exchange views, or celebrate together. Our get-together offers are also of interest to international students, as they can discover Berlin and surroundings and get to meet new people. In our programs 'food+culture' and 'Culture tandem Berlin', they can also present their own culture to other students, encouraging mutual exchange.
Berlin2050 – City of the Future
How will students be living in 2050? Will Berlin become the centre for visionary developments in technology, culture and society? What can we do for more sustainability and how can we positively influence the development of the city? The year-to-year project "Berlin2050 – City of the Future" deals with issues of the future between utopia and dystopia.
Residence events & tutor programme
We support cultural projects in the student residences that encourage a harmonious living together. In the residence tutor program, tutors support and give advice to new - especially international - residents. With events such as the residence quiz or residence football championship, we bring together students from different residences to have fun together and to win prizes.
