Exchange students

In order to promote exchange programs, there is a studierendenWERK BERLIN has a procedural regulation for the preferential allocation of living space for foreign program students.

The Berlin universities and colleges have contingent contracts with the studierendenWERK completed. Exchange students should apply to either the German Academic Exchange Service or the International Office of their university. Places will be allocated once applications have been received.


As soon as you have received confirmation from your university for a quota place, we must collect your personal data.

The first step, however, is to contact your host university. You can find out who your contact person is at each university in the following list.

If you, as a program student, do not receive a quota place through your Berlin university because these have already been taken, you have the opportunity to apply on our homepage with your admission, the semester fee paid and your passport. Use the regular dormitory portal for this.
