Sign language interpreting

For studies at Berlin universities, sign language interpreters can be applied for within the framework of inclusion support services for students.

Upon request of the affected students, we support the Organisation for Sign Language Interpreters (Organisation von Gebärdensprachdolmetschende) in coordination with the studierendenWERK BERLIN.

How does this work?

The Sign Language Interpretation Coordination organises interpreters for assignments at the Berlin universities and colleges. For this purpose, the respective students send their timetables to the coordinators before the start of the semester. Taking individual requests into account, interpreters are booked for the required assignments. It is important that an application for inclusion support services for students was submitted to the Counselling Centre for Barrier-free Studies prior to the assignment.

If you have questions about interpreting, our sign language interpreting coordinators also offer video consultation in German sign language.

You can find more information in the downloads (only available in German).
