All our facilities will be closed on Friday because of our general employee meeting.
We ask for your understanding.
We support you in questions about barrier-free studies and everyday life
How do I organise my disability-related needs during my studies?
What does compensation for disadvantages mean? Are there any special admission requirements for me?
Who can I turn to? How do I finance my studies and my support?
These and many other questions are asked by students and prospective students with very different impairments.
You can contact us if you have long-term health impairments.
In addition to mobility, hearing or visual impairments, this also includes impairments such as Crohn's disease, cancer, rheumatism, HIV, ADHD, autism, mental illness, dyslexia or other invisible impairments.
You can make an appointment using our contact information or the contact form.
In order to create the necessary conditions right at the beginning of your studies, it is advisable to contact the responsible advisor* at studierenWERK BERLIN early as well as the representatives for the interests of students with disabilities at the universities.
Further contacts, e.g. to the representatives for the interests of students with disabilities at the universities, other counselling centres or self-help groups can be found here (only in German).
You can find more detailed information for whole Germany from the Deutsche Studentenwerk here.
The Counselling Centre for Barrier-free Studies has also taken on the task of awarding inclusion support services for students according to the Berlin Higher Education Act.
Applications for inclusion support services for students such as e.g. study assistants, book allowance or technical aids can be submitted here. Study assistance is granted to study applicants according to the impairment-related requirements.
Study assistants provide help e.g. with transcriptions, library researches or digitisation of texts.
More information on Study assistants can be found here.
Technical aids include needs-oriented supplementary equipment for laptops or PCs as well as other technical aids that are required for studying and for which no other social service provider bears the costs.
For the advice and application processing of technical aids is cross-university Ms. Bültbrune responsible.
Phone: 030 93939-9071
Costs for books and work materials can be subsidised as a flat rate, if a needs-based requirement is the case.
As part of the inclusion services, sign language interpreters can be applied for to study at a Berlin university or college. All information is available >> here
For studies at Berlin universities or colleges, speech-to-text reporters can be applied for within the framework of inclusion support services for students. For detailed information please klick >> here.
