Opening - Shifting Tides: Art in a Changing Climate
Part of the Featured section of Berlin Art Week 2025
Under the title "Shifting Tides: Art in a Changing Climate," 20 students from Berlin and Paris artistically engage with the most pressing challenge of our time: the climate crisis. The exhibition takes place as part of Berlin Art Week 2025 at Kunstraum Potsdamer Straße and was selected through the Open Call for the Featured section.
The exhibited works include personal narratives by young artists reflecting on their experiences with the climate crisis in their immediate surroundings. They also explore the potential of new technologies to foster sustainability and strengthen environmental awareness. Art is understood here as a medium of protest and a catalyst for societal change, raising questions of climate justice. The works further envision future ecosystems oscillating between utopia and dystopia.
The exhibition features a wide range of media, including painting, mixed media, video and installation art, fashion design, and performance.
