Futher information
Located in the middle of Kreuzberg, this project was founded in 1977. The number of residents per flat at the STUK Project (students and people already living in Kreuzberg) ranges from one to ten people per apartment.
The buildings contain a total of 43 residential units as well as several commercial units. This house stands out from afar due to the glassy towers and the walkway over the flattened ridge, linking it to the neighbouring buildings. On the roof is a 70 square meter greenhouse and in the cellar, there’s a combined heat and power facility.
Within the scope of this project, several Wassertorplatz buildings originally planned for demolition were refurbished by residents themselves and a new plan for co-habitation of students and non-students was developed. The students were involved at an early stage in the redevelopment and conversion planning.
