Studying Under Pressure
Write Yourself Free – A Safe Space for BIPoC Students
Constantly having to perform well in your studies can be stressful. External expectations, pressure to succeed, and critical inner voices are constant companions in students’ daily lives.
This three-hour workshop offers BIPoC students a safe space to explore these experiences through writing. Here you can focus on your own experience without judgement or pressure to perform.
The workshop combines creative and autobiographical writing, short meditations, and mindfulness-based exercises. Through various writing prompts and brief mindfulness exercises, we explore questions such as: Where do I feel pressure in my studies? What voices are at work within me? And what resources help me cope with this?
The goal is to organize thoughts, develop new perspectives, and find a compassionate way of relating to yourself. The workshop is open to all BIPoC students who want to take time for reflection, share their experiences, or simply write for themselves.
