Lesung: studentische Literaturanthologie [Only in German]

Come to our reading at Lettrétage!

This event is all about the voices of student authors in Berlin!

The literary anthology “und das raverpaar tanzt zum s-bahnorchester” (and the raver couple dances to the S-Bahn orchestra), published by the Studierendenwerk Berlin, brings together texts from the period 2023-2025.

A dozen of the more than 35 authors featured in the anthology will give insights into their writing on this evening.

The texts come from the intercultural writing group “TextTransit,” which meets each semester under different leadership. Impressions from many other literary workshops organized by the student cultural association and the reading platform “Lies los!” will also be heard. And, of course, authors from the student city writer program “Berlin Stories” will also read.

The topics range from the spiciest currywurst to the inner beauty of roses, the coriander gene, tenderness and coldness that go hand in hand in the big city.

The diverse voices and original observations provide an insight into what is currently moving Berlin students.

The event will be moderated by Theresa Brehm and Lucie Frahm from the Kulturwerk des Studierendenwerks Berlin.

The event will take place at the Literaturhaus Lettrétage at Veteranenstraße 21.

Antonia Augsbach

Antonia Augsbach, born in 1999, grew up near Munich and now lives and studies philosophy in Berlin. When she's not in the library or the university café, you'll find her between Soldinerstraße and Leopoldplatz. Her writing captures the essence of Berlin: student jobs at Tipico, the city's most beautiful darts player, vicious dogs in smoky dive bars, clanking slot machines, and T-shirts stolen by roundabout means.

Natalia Dimitrova

I'm Natalia, born in Bulgaria. For me, flowers growing through the asphalt are a symbol of strength and tenderness. I study German and Slavic languages at Humboldt University in Berlin. I am inspired by people and their stories—moving them with language and text, following their inner compass, is what drives me. Because everyone has something to tell.

Marla Engelschalk

Marla Engelschalk studies literature and business administration at Freie Universität Berlin. Her writing is similarly contrasting: her texts are dark yet sensitive.

Karla Fröhlich

Karla Fröhlich, born in 2003, studies film and literature. With her head in the clouds and her feet in the city. Hungry for images and words. Not quite sure which star she fell from. @artificialsilkgirl003

Vincent Kelany

Vincent Kelany, born in 1996, studied philosophy and law. His debut novel, “Molaris' Verformungen,” is published by Redrum. He also writes film reviews.

Lily Kröger

Lily Kröger is currently studying art and visual history as well as European ethnology at Humboldt University in Berlin. In her free time, she enjoys writing—about art, the strange moments in life, or simply whatever comes to mind. Sometimes, a little too much comes to mind.

Quill Kukuj

Quill Kukuj loves the forest. And ink. And life. And the extraordinary aspects of life. And the ordinary, which is so ordinary that it becomes extraordinary to observe it. Their works and paths move between poetry and prose, multilingualism and speechlessness; most recently, they led them to Tübingen, where they now work as an assistant director at the Landestheater.

Alex Maurer

Alex Marlin Maurer (they/them) has been writing poetry and short stories for many years—and has also been bringing them to the stage since 2023. They study European ethnology and gender studies. Alex finds inspiration both in their own queer life and in small everyday observations in the big city, from which Alex dreams up entire stories—often with a dash of utopia.

Phoebe Mossmann

As a child, her mother told her she could be anything she wanted to be. Today, she sees herself as a medical student, researcher, and dreamer. She loves writing in cafés in Paris, or alternatively on the sofa with her cat while the rain pelts down on the windowpanes. She is forever fascinated by the magic of the smallest moments.

Maria Păcurariu

Maria Păcurariu was born in Nuremberg in 2002 and studied psychology, philosophy, political science, and creative writing in Berlin and Leipzig on a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation. She works as a freelance journalist and writes poetry, prose, and stage texts. Her interests include faith, oral history, and states of emergency. She enjoys long train journeys and watercolors.

Alice Muitoevoli Rugai

Born and raised in Tuscany, Alice Muitoevoli Rugai studied foreign languages and literature at the University of Pisa and completed a master's degree in theater studies at the FU in Berlin. Alice is currently part of the 17th class of scenic writing at the UdK. Her theater texts are represented by S.Fischer Theater Verlag. @muitoevoli

Jacquelin Strobel

Jacquelin Strobel studies theater and literature at the Free University of Berlin. She writes texts for the independent theater scene, works as a dramaturge, and is an assistant director. She was a member of the taz audience jury for Open Mike 2021. She is currently working on poetry films.

Ella Strübbe

Ella Strübbe, born in 1998, is a journalist, author, and resident of Berlin by choice. Her literary work blends autobiography with fiction until her own memories blur between the lines. She is currently writing her master's thesis on Israeli settlement policy in the West Bank at the Institute for Cultural Studies at Humboldt University in Berlin.

Eliana Wojtal

Eliana was city writer for studierendenWERK from August 2024 to January 2025, during which time she was able to paint Berlin with her words on the blog. She is currently discovering new media for herself and letting her surroundings change her with sharpened teeth. Now you can find her, in addition to the universities of this city, in turtle magazin(e) and kollektiv.

Hannes Zawodnik

Hannes Zawodnik studied German and Scandinavian literature in Bonn and Bergen. After completing a master's degree in contemporary literature at the Free University of Berlin, he is now studying creative writing in Hildesheim. He was shortlisted for the WORTMELDUNGEN sponsorship award in 2025 and has participated in various writing programs, including those led by Silke Scheuermann, Mariusz Hoffmann, and Dilek Güngör.

Xiaohan Zhou

Music and words are her wings—they carry her through the worlds of her creativity. With a Tower of Babel in her head, she paints the picture of her life, which spans soccer and ballet, Russia and the Basque Country. Like an antenna, she receives and magnifies everything—in poetic language—until she loses herself in a unique world of emotions and creates new worlds.

Roman Hübscher (illustrator)

Born in 1997, studied art history and philosophy at Humboldt University, followed by a degree in fine arts for teaching at Berlin University of the Arts. In addition to his own artistic work, primarily in drawing and painting, he has held various positions in the cultural sector, including as an assistant at the artspring art and culture festival and, since 2022, as a student employee at the Lehr Berlin auction house.
