A zine is a small, self-made booklet where you can bring together texts, drawings, collages, photos, or other creative ideas. You decide what your zine looks like and what you want to express in it. No previous experience is needed.
Who wouldn’t want to be part of the first generation of something new – especially now, when everything seems to be going downhill? But seriously: how are you supposed to learn from mistakes if no one in your family has made them before? How do you meet deadlines? How do you talk to professors? And who understands that being “broke” doesn’t mean giving up shopping at the organic supermarket, but being afraid you won’t be able to pay your rent? In short: what does it mean to be one of the first people in your family to go to university?
In our zine workshop, we turn not knowing into knowledge. We share experiences, collect strategies, question things that are taken for granted in academia and use creative methods to develop ideas for a future we can shape ourselves. We work at the intersection of movement, storytelling and visual arts.
Most importantly: no pressure! You decide which exercises you want to take part in, and you never have to share anything personal that you don’t feel comfortable talking about. The workshop is intended to be a safer space that empowers you without putting unnecessary pressure on you.
Come as you are! <3
