Because here you don't just learn moves and history. You'll find a space to experiment, to be seen, and to discover something new within yourself. At the end of the semester, you have the opportunity to be part of a Practice Ball: participants and community members come together to walk and perform in various categories and celebrate this culture. It's also a chance to make initial connections within the ballroom community and a step towards becoming a part of it yourself.
In this course, you'll immerse yourself in the world of ballroom culture, with voguing as one of its most recognizable elements. You'll learn the fundamentals of voguing while gaining insights into the broader ballroom universe, including various categories such as Runway, Face, Realness, Body, Sex Siren, Fashion Killer, and performance styles like Old Way, New Way, and Vogue Fem.
This means you won't just learn moves, but also discover different ways to express yourself, build confidence, and find your own presence in the room. Step by step, you'll grow into this world through experimentation, learning, and an ever-increasing sense of your body and expression.
