Rent payments are made by direct debit (SEPA) from the 5th of the month for the current month.

If you do not have a SEPA-capable account in the first month, you can transfer the rent to the following bank account:

Recipient: studierendenWERK BERLIN

Credit institution: DKB

IBAN: DE47 1203 0000 1020 5830 41

BIC: BYLADEM1001

(You will find the details on the 1st page of the rental agreement)

If your SEPA mandate is only available at the beginning of a current month, the direct debit can be made from the 15th in this month; no further direct debits can be made after the 15th in the current month. If you do not submit your SEPA mandate on time, it can only be used from the following month and you must transfer the current rent to studierendenWERK Berlin.

The residence tutors are students who have lived in Berlin for some time and pass on their experience to the residents of the halls of residence. Residents can contact the tutors.

  1.  cancel first:
If you have decided to move out soon, you must cancel your contract. To do this, log in to your hall of residence portal and click on your current contract. The cancel button will then become active. Use it to let us know when you want to move out. Your notice period is 6 weeks to the end of the month. This means that you can always terminate your contract on the 15th of a month to the end of the following month.
  2. Make an appointment with the janitor:
As soon as we are aware of your termination, you will receive a confirmation. We will then let you know when the janitor will come to look at your room. He will tell you exactly what you still have to do before you move out. Please follow his instructions.
  3. Organize the day of departure:
You must move out no later than 8 a.m. on the last working day before the end of your contract (Monday to Friday, except on public holidays and not on 24.12. and 31.12.). Please make an appointment directly with the janitor to hand over the key/coin. This will avoid waiting times and allow you to catch the train or plane on time. Please tidy your room, kitchen and bathroom and clean everything thoroughly. If the room is not handed over properly, we will hire a cleaning company. You will then have to pay the costs. If you no longer need things, do not throw them in the household waste! Please dispose of bulky waste and electrical waste at the recycling center. If you have a bicycle

The deposit will be transferred to the account specified by you at the earliest 8 weeks after the end of the rental agreement if there are no outstanding debts.

If there were any defects when you moved out, there may be a longer processing time due to the request for invoices.

Please make sure that you have valid bank details for the payment of the deposit.

If you are submitting bank details from a non-EU country, please provide us with the following details:

  • IBAN or account number
  • BIC / Swift
  • Account holder
  • Address of the account holder
  • Name of the bank
  • IFSC Indian Financial System Code (only for Indian accounts)
