Hello dear residents,
I’m Abdelrahman Askar, your new dormitory tutor. Originally from Egypt, I now feel at home in Germany. I study Mechanical Engineering at TU Berlin, which provides exciting insights into technology and innovation.
I speak Arabic, German, and English. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cycling, bouldering, and meeting new people. I believe everyone is like a book waiting to be discovered!
As your tutor, I’m here to help with questions about dorm life and living in Germany. Whether it’s bureaucracy or university life, I’m here to assist you.
Our dorm hosts events that strengthen our community, such as game nights, study groups, and creative activities. In the coming months, I’m planning relaxing events like bonfire evenings.
Event updates are posted in our Telegram group and on the notice boards at the entrance, so you’ll always be informed.
Our dorm is special with its green spaces, a well-equipped gym, ping-pong tables, and the unique “Bierkeller.” It’s home to a diverse community, and I look forward to making it a welcoming place for everyone.

Hello everyone!
My name is Yash and I've been a tutor in the Victor Jara hall of residence at Oberfeldstraße 111-132 since March 2025. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and organizing events for our hall of residence community together. If you have any questions about the dormitory, life in Berlin or your studies, I am happy to help!
About me: I'm originally from India, but I've been living in Berlin for three years now - and honestly, this dorm has become my absolute happy place! I speak German, English, Hindi and Spanish. I am currently studying Media Informatics at HTW Berlin.
I'm always on the move in my free time: Table tennis, beach volleyball, bouldering and skateboarding are my hobbies! I also love learning new languages and exploring the world - traveling, meeting new people!
Events: I really enjoy organizing things together for us in the dormitory - like chilling out in parks or hanging out in cool bars. I'm also planning games and pizza evenings and beach volleyball sessions. Maybe even a round of table tennis. Your ideas are very welcome! You can check out new events via postings or our dormitory Telegram group.
What's special about the dormitory: the green, the nature, the peace and quiet and all the space here are simply unbeatable. Perfect for switching off and meeting new people at the same time!
