How do I apply for an apartment with my family?

Please use the dormitory portal for this purpose as well. In the online dormitory application it is mandatory to fill in the fields marital status, the name of the spouse* and, if applicable, the field number of children. With this information we can then offer you suitable accommodation. Please note that we can only offer you a place in a dormitory if both partners are eligible to live and are studying in Berlin. Due to the small number of family apartments, the waiting period will be extended to more than three semesters.

How do I apply for an apartment with my girlfriend or friends?

Only one member of the future shared apartment applies first via the dormitory portal. In the dormitory application, the number of additional co-applicants* must be indicated. A "Cover letter for application" will then be sent by e-mail, in which the further procedure will be explained in detail. Note: All co-applicants must be eligible to reside in accordance with the guidelines for renting dormitory places.

When should I apply?

When the admission or enrollment certificate has been received and the semester fees have been paid.

Under what conditions does a submitted application expire?

As long as you do not have a lease, you will receive an email every 30 days asking if you are still interested in housing. Answer "yes" to the question, click on the link in the mail and thereby remain on the waiting list. If you do not answer this mail within 5 days, your application will expire.
