Writing group for term papers and theses [Only in German]

This writing group is aimed at students from all disciplines who are writing a term paper or thesis in the summer semester 2026 and already have a topic and research question for their work.

In this writing group, we meet once a week to work on our papers together.

We begin with a short prompt that encourages exchange about the current progress of your work and helps you get into the right “writing mindset.” Afterwards, we have up to two and a half hours of writing time, during which you can work individually on your projects.
The writing group also places a special focus on text feedback. This means that during the sessions, you can submit your texts for feedback and learn feedback methods that enable you to give each other constructive and professional responses to your academic writing.

Over the course of 8 sessions, participants will be provided with a structured writing-didactic framework to support regular work on their projects alongside others.

The writing group takes place in person in Berlin Charlottenburg; the exact room will be announced.

Participants can also ask for directions at the information desk in the foyer of the Mensa building (Hardenbergstraße 34). The writing group is facilitated by trained student writing tutors.

Requirements for participation:
Participants are expected to attend all 8 sessions regularly and on time. You should also have a topic and a (preliminary) research question for your term paper or thesis and be prepared to briefly present them in the first session.

Before the writing group begins, the peer writing tutors will conduct a short phone call with each participant to clarify whether the group’s concept aligns with their expectations and schedule. These calls are mandatory for participation.
