How to Get a Job Interview in Germany

A step-by-step guide

Finding your career path can feel like a challenge. The German job market is complex, and knowing how to present your skills, knowledge, experience, and personal traits in a way that resonates with employers is essential.

In this workshop, we’ll take a step-by-step approach to understanding how to evaluate your skills and experience for specific job postings. Together, we’ll identify what employers are looking for, explore how to match your skills and experiences with their expectations, and develop strategies for bridging any gaps through future skill-building opportunities. You’ll learn how to craft an impactful CV and cover letter that effectively showcase your unique profile. Finally, we’ll take a look at what else you can do to make sure that your application has the best possible chance of being seen by potential employers!

Agenda:

  • What’s the red thread in my career path? How can I tell a cohesive story about my experiences?
  • What skills, knowledge, traits, and strengths have I developed in my previous experiences? How can I describe them effectively?
  • How does my background fit with the job postings I’m interested in? What do I have to offer, and where do I need to grow?
