In this course, you will dive into the world of ballroom culture, with voguing as one of its best-known categories. You will learn the basics of voguing while also gaining insights into the wider ballroom universe, including categories such as Runway, Face, Realness, Body, Sex Siren and Fashion Killer, as well as performance styles such as Old Way, New Way and Vogue Fem.
This means you will not only learn moves, but also discover different ways to express yourself, build confidence and develop your own presence in the space. Step by step, you will grow through experimenting, learning and developing a stronger sense of your body and your own expression.
Ballroom culture emerged in Harlem, New York, in the 1960s and 1970s and was shaped by Black and Latin American trans women. It is a space for resilience, creativity and self-expression – and this energy is at the heart of the course.
- Complete beginners

At the end of the semester, you will have the opportunity to take part in a Practice Ball. Participants and community members come together to walk and perform in different categories and celebrate ballroom culture together.
It is also an opportunity to make your first connections with the ballroom community and take a step towards becoming part of it.
Because you will learn more than just moves and history. You will find a space to experiment, to be seen and to discover something new within yourself.
