Carlo Zeit (also known as Switch) is a trained costume designer and drag performer. Switch completed a Bachelor's degree in Costume for Performance at the London College of Fashion and then worked in various German theaters as an assistant costume designer and costume designer, including the Berliner Ensemble. In addition to theater, Switch has also outfitted films from the independent scene, often experimentally and conceptually, but also playfully for some children's plays. Most recently for I need Hero, which premiered at Podewil Berlin in February. Since 2017, Switch has been a passionate drag performer, starting with the 80s drag king character Otto Autobahn, through all kinds of clownish characters to the London drag queen Shamepaine, who tries her hand at political comedy.
"I enjoy watching people transform into beings who give space to a certain side of their personality, leaving behind the seriousness of our social panopticon and its strict gender rules and letting their inner child speak out. In my opinion, there are no limits to this; as we all know, pants belong on your head and socks on your hands."
