How to structure an academic paper

The Basics

You're about to begin (or have begun) writing an academic paper, but you’re not quite sure what to include, and what goes where?

In this workshop, you will learn how typical academic papers at German universities (e.g. ‚Hausarbeiten‘ and Bachelor-/Master thesis) are structured and which purpose each component should fulfill. In addition, you will receive instructions and time to craft an outline for your writing assignment - or to revise your outline, if you already have one.

To get the most out of this workshop, we recommend that you have already read a couple of sources that you would like to use in your writing assignment, and to have at least a rough idea of the topic, aim and research question that you want to cover in your writing assignment.
