Berlin Stories

Berlin Stories - city writer program

Marcel Yilmaz

With the city writer project "Berlin Stories" we want to capture the specific perspective of Berlin students. Each year, a different author is selected by a jury.

Our city writer of 2021 is Momo Bera!

Read here the Berlin Stories . (NB: The stories are mainly written in German.)

Survey Program

Survey - help create our program!

Your opinion counts! We want to create our program together with you. Take part in our survey, which only takes two minutes. In times of Corona, deciding together with you is especially important to us.

Participate - our offers

Participate - our offers

You can participate in all divisions of Kulturwerk Berlin or become creative yourself.

Kunstraum

Kunstraum

The KUNSTRAUM program offers new rooms, where you can express yourself artistically, e.g. with exhibitions, installations, performances and media works. Our locations offer a wide variety of spaces: From gallery-like rooms in refectories to an huge, abandoned parking garage, located in the middle of Berlin's thriving gallery scene on Potsdamer Strasse.

Events in residence halls

Events in residence halls

We support cultural projects in the student residence halls that encourage a harmonious living together. In the residence tutor program, tutors support and give advice to new - especially international - residents.

Get Together

Get Together

Get Togethers are our events where you can easily meet fellow students, exchange views, discover Berlin or simply have a good time with friends. Our Get Togethers are very interesting for international students, as they can meet open minded people who are interested in intercultural exchanges.

Film

Film

We regularly organize the short film competition "Film it!" In many other interdisciplinary projects, film works by students also find a place. We are curious about your project!

Literature

Literature

Berlin writes many stories. That's why we invite you to present your texts on our reading platform Lies los! The project "Berlin Stories" captures the perspective of our city writers on their life in Berlin over a year. And in the intercultural writing group "TextTransit", student writers with diverse cultural backgrounds work together.

Stage & Music

Stage & Music

We offer during the semester many music and stage events to which you can just watch and listen or also stand on stage, like in our talent competition "Mix it! Talent". Some of our other projects are Voguing, the Unität Choir, the Freispieler Theatre group or Impro Theatre - and you can join in all of them.

Our publications

You can order our KUNSTRAUM catalog and our literature anthology with works by students free of charge (NB: The KUNSTRAUM catalog is translated to English, but most of the texts in the Literature Anthology are in German). Just write an email to kultur[at]stw.berlin.
