The positive sides of the COVID-19 pandemic

Change your perspective, look at the positive side of the pandemic and take into account the advantages it could actually bring you!

Nowadays we are all overwhelmed by the news about the current pandemic– be it on the TV, in the social networks or just by talking to our friends and family. A situation full of restrictions like this one looks pretty discouraging at first look; however, everything on this world has two sides. In this article I encourage you to change your perspective, look at the positive side of the pandemic and take into account the advantages it could actually bring you.

You can save some money

Plans for the weekend: have a burger at some nice place like Burgeramt, go to a nice rooftop bar such as Klunkerkranich or hit that 80’s party in Cassiopeia- yes, Berlin has definitely much to offer especially when it comes to entertainment and nightlife. Unfortunately going out too often is not that healthy for the student budget. That’s why you can use the pandemic to save some money, since many places have closed right now and events got cancelled. Maybe you could invest this amount of money in something you never managed to save for… like a trip to a dream destination. And when it comes to clubbing, you can still get the vibe by watching the livestream from some of the most famous Berlin clubs, organized by UnitedWeStream.

You have procrastinated working out at home for too long

On that Monday you felt so motivated to work out at home, so you downloaded all the work-out-at-home apps on your phone and... you never used them. Now you have the chance to change this!  The fitness studios are closed anyways, but you can invest your free time during this pandemic to try out different exercises at home. What’s better than taking care of your health and good shape? You can check out various work out plans online and discover which one is best for you. Remember, the pandemic won’t last forever, so you better get in shape for the summer!

You have considered taking some online courses, but never had the time

The virtual space offers many educational resources for free and now it’s the best time to check on them! Maybe some of your courses at the university were cancelled, because they couldn’t take place online and you have some more time this term. So why not taking that online course you were planning to but never had the time? Coursera, Khan Academy and even the Harvard University offer free courses during this pandemic. Make sure to visit their pages and you will definitely find an exciting new topic to learn about!

You have more time for yourself

Did you feel stressed out because you had too many obligations for your job, for your studies or you just promised those old friends to meet them for a drink, but you also got a visit by your cousin for the weekend? At the end you felt so exhausted that you wished you could just pause your life for a bit. Now you can do it… well, kind of! Enjoy this time of the pandemic to spend more time with yourself, do the things you like, take care for your health by eating healthy and working out, consider what are your goals for the future and how do you want to achieve them. Self-reflection is something very important, however we seldom have the opportunity to calm down and think about the direction our life is going to. So don’t miss out this one!

You have always wanted to improve your cooking skills
